David Hobart Young, age 62, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015. He was the son of the late William and Joan Young.

David loved cooking and entertaining others, and loved his dogs, Tux, Zedo, Bonnie Blue, Rhett, and Scarlett.

He is survived by his life partner, Paul Spiegler; his sister, Susan Young Hines and her husband, Gary of Virginia Beach, VA; his niece, Emily Kamppi and her husband, Alan, and his nephew, William David Hines, all of Virginia Beach; his special friends from church, Julia Ann Fitts, Muzette Kiger and her husband, Jack, Dr. John Moss and his wife, Charlotte, Dr. Richard Holm and his wife, Dr. Rev. Marjorie Holm, Rev. Jane Love, and Rev. Joseph Sandoval and his wife, Nancy.

Memorial Services arranged by Askew Funeral and Cremation Services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 1:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church in Roanoke Rapids, with Rev. Joseph Sandoval officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church benevolence fund.
